This story takes you on the journey of a young girls inability to cope with a tragic event which leaves her delusional and dangerous. The concept behind this film explores our social construction of the spiritual versus psychological debate. Are some people's convictions that they can see spirits true, or are their visions products of a psychologically fragmented, delusional mind, damaged in some way as others may counter. 简介：十年动乱后，建工学院的一幢筒子楼里居住着学院党委书记袁亦方（王培 饰） 顾问刘力行(冯汉元 饰) 水暖工喜凤年(许忠全 饰) 校医明锦华（郑振瑶 饰） 助教冯卫东(李占文 饰) 讲师章炳华（王橦 饰）共六户人家。尽管他们没有公共厨房，只能在楼道里生火做饭，大家患难与共，和睦相处。不久袁亦方分到了新房，还为刘力行也争取了一套。其他住户想把袁亦方腾出的房间做公共厨房用，却得知吴科长（鲍占元 饰）把房子分给了省委董部长的侄子，老刘得知此事后决定不搬新居，而用新房为换回那间房子给大家作公共厨房。之后刘力行在延安时认识的美国朋友艾格妮丝（陈比娣 饰）来访，袁亦方让老刘在他的新住宅里接待，并冒充老刘自己的家，结果闹出很多笑话。性格率直的老刘干脆带她到自己的家里，在公共厨房招待她。升任市建委的袁亦方得知此事后，觉得给中国人丢了脸，以此为借口为领导干部建高级住宅。之后高级住宅能否顺利建成，筒子楼里的居民，住房问题能得到解决吗？
